Stevens County Rd 70

In late summer/early fall of 2017 we started the replacement of the old bridge on county road 70 just east of HWY 59 in Stevens County. This job felt like it was right in our backyard! The project was to replace an insufficient bridge crossing the Pomme De Terre River & to widen the road. We installed new concrete box culverts using a 120-ton crane to lift them off the trucks, lower, & place. A lot of prep work was done prior to installing the culverts including placing a plastic lined diversion so the river could still run through while the project was being done.
